On the 6th of June, African Gist was invited by Africa Caribbean Pacific Young professional Nework (ACP YPN) and World Solidarity Forum (WSF) to attend their conference on entrepreneurship and development.
Several personalities such as the European Deputy Mrs. Cécile Kyenge, his excellency Mr. Paw Lwin Sein, Ambassador of Myanmar to BENELUX and the European Union; Mr. Eric Owusu Nimako, representative of EWALA were invited to join the panel.
During the event, ACP YPN and WSF put Young Entrepreneurs from ACP & Asia-Pacific at the centre of the discussion, and put the decision-makers in the “hot seat”.
Invited as guest speaker, Cynthia, our founder defended our vision on that topic. She spoke about the importance for African youths to believe in themselves and value their professional/personal experiences if theh want to find innovative solutions.
Cynthia also spoke about the importance of making fundings available for African youths willing to grow their social projects and businesses in Africa. Finally, she asked the decision makers if the European Union had a plan to invest in young African entrepreneurs and projects holders working for Africa development throught innovation.
The event was an opportunity for us to remember that African Youths are central in our efforts to shape the future of Africa. Their ideas and suggestions do have value no matter their professional background.
We would like to thank ACP YPN for inviting us and the guest speakers for the quality of the debate.
